Opportunity Summary 

Fraternity House Inc has several departments to support academic learning in. We have a 24 hour care home providing round the clock care and support to vulnerable persons living with HIV/AIDS. We also have a semi-independent living program where more independent folks are supported with case management services. All residents are provided with a robust activities schedule provided by our Dignity Project who support them with holistic, and fun community and social events. Finally we also have an administration department overseeing the agency, managing staff, grant writing and reporting, and development.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Applicants would be able to find their niche within the realm of nonprofits or practice skills pertaining to a future career in the medical field. Applicants working in the home would receive the opportunity to assist with medication assistance, monitoring well-being, tracking some minor vitals, and engaging with medical teams apart of a client-centered, person-in-environment approach. Learners working with the case management team would strengthen skills surrounding client mediation, advocacy, public benefits, community outreach, and more. Working with the Dignity Project, learners would have the opportunity to learn event planning, even execution, creating activity plans, working events, and promoting a holistic healing environment. In the adminstration realm, there would be times to learn grant writing skills, HR experience, community outreach and capacity building, as well as strategic planning.
