Youth Court InternAt — Escondido Education COMPACT
The program is designed to help at-risk youth navigate challenges and social inequalities. Compact offers prevention and intervention services to reunify juveniles back into school and society.
Students will gain workforce development, leadership and practical skills, confidence and become more engaged with their communities. Specifically, the Youth Court program will support students in developing civic engagement by participating in service-learing activities that involve public-speaking and hands-on courtroom experiences. The program offers a variety of workforce development by helping students navigate through carrer options and job shadowing events.
Students must participate in training to assist in case management for first-time youth offenders. Also, students will participate in group workshops and dinners to familiarize themselves with the community of COMPACT and their mentees.
