Political Engagement & Event Planning InternAt — Frank Metayer Personal Political Campaign
This internship offers hands-on experience in organizing community events, networking with political and civic leaders, and managing schedules. Interns will gain skills in civic engagement, strategic communication, and event coordination while working closely with Frank Metayer, a Commissioner for the City of Chula Vista.
Students will develop skills in political outreach, event planning, networking with local government officials, and managing community engagement efforts. They will also gain experience in public relations, communication strategies, and leadership, making them well-prepared for future roles in civic leadership or political campaign management.
Students will receive an initial orientation and ongoing weekly check-ins to review tasks, expectations, and progress. Training will include event planning basics, communication strategies, and networking techniques over the first two weeks, with guidance provided throughout the internship.
No heavy lifting required. Most tasks involve communication, coordination, and attending events.
