Social Media & Marketing InternAt — Project Next
Are you passionate about storytelling, digital media, and making a difference? Join Project Next, a nonprofit transforming the high school experience through real-world career exploration. As our Social Media & Marketing Intern, you'll help elevate student voices, highlight community impact, and bring our Future Centers to life across platforms. You’ll gain hands-on experience in content creation, brand strategy, and nonprofit communications—while making a tangible difference in the lives of local youth.
Interns will gain practical experience in google ads grant management, digital storytelling, campaign planning, and nonprofit brand management. They’ll build skills in content creation (graphics, photo/video editing, and writing for social), social media analytics, project management, and community engagement. They will also learn how to align content strategy with mission-driven communications and develop a deeper understanding of how marketing supports nonprofit growth and impact. By the end of the internship, students will have produced a portfolio of high-quality, mission-focused content and gained real-world experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative nonprofit environment.
Students will receive onboarding on our mission, voice, brand, and communications strategy during the first week. Ongoing training includes mentorship in social media best practices, content calendar development, storytelling for impact, and basic design and video tools (Canva, Meta Business Suite, etc.). Weekly check-ins will allow for skill building and feedback. Mandated Reporter training is not required for this role.
