Opportunity Summary 

This Athletic Training Internship offers students a hands on learning experience in a dynamic sports environment. Interns will work under the guidance of certified athletic trainers to assist with injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletes. Responsibilities include supporting daily training room operations, preparing athletes for practices and games, providing on field assistance during events, and collaborating with coaches and medical staff. This internship is designed to build foundational skills, provide real world exposure to the demands of athletic healthcare, and enhance professional development. It’s an ideal opportunity for students pursuing a career in athletic training, sports medicine, or physical therapy.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

By the end of the internship, students will gain valuable hands on experience in injury prevention, assessment, and rehabilitation techniques. They will develop practical skills in taping, wrapping, and the use of therapeutic modalities, as well as enhance their knowledge of human anatomy and common sports related injuries. Students will also learn how to manage and document treatments, communicate effectively with athletes and coaches, and respond professionally in high-pressure situations. Additionally, they will build confidence in making clinical decisions under supervision and gain a deeper understanding of the day to day responsibilities of a certified athletic trainer.

Opportunity Training 

Student will need to be fingerprinted and attend a training to work with high school Minors to receive a full experience

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Student may deal with bodily fluids and lifting heaving objects such as water jugs.
