Program Director Intern At — Growth Aspired People
This internship offers students the opportunity to lead and shape meaningful community-based programs within a grassroots nonprofit. Interns will gain hands-on experience in developing, evaluating, and coordinating programs that directly serve women and underserved populations. They will lead meetings, collaborate with community partners, and contribute to the design and execution of impactful projects. Ideal for students pursuing degrees in Social Work, Psychology, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or Women’s Studies.
By the end of the internship, students will gain practical skills in nonprofit program development, project coordination, leadership, and professional communication. They will learn to create and manage program timelines, delegate tasks to volunteers, collect and interpret data for impact reporting, and communicate with diverse community stakeholders. Students will also develop conflict resolution strategies, presentation skills, and an understanding of trauma-informed care and community engagement practices. Interns will leave with strengthened leadership abilities and a portfolio of real-world experience.
Students will participate in a 2-hour onboarding and orientation session covering our organizational structure, programs, expectations, and safety procedures. Additional weekly check-ins (30–60 minutes) will be held for ongoing guidance. Training includes: - Program development basics - Leadership and team communication - Google Workspace and internal tools - Mandated Reported training (required if working with minors or vulnerable populations) - DEI and trauma-informed engagement practices
Most responsibilities are administrative or virtual. Occasional lifting of supplies under 20 lbs may be requested during in-person events. All in-person activities will follow safety protocols, and accommodations will be made upon request.
