Opportunity Summary 

This internship offers hands-on experience in a dynamic chiropractic clinic that integrates multiple wellness services, including chiropractic adjustments, massage therapy, X-rays, red light therapy, and advanced body scan assessments. Interns will gain exposure to holistic approaches to patient care, learning how various modalities support musculoskeletal health, pain management, and overall wellness. Responsibilities may include assisting with patient intake, observing treatments, supporting administrative tasks, and helping maintain a professional and welcoming environment. This role provides a unique opportunity to understand the collaboration between different therapeutic practices within one clinic setting while developing communication, organizational, and patient service skills. Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

By the end of the internship, students will be able to: Demonstrate understanding of the role chiropractic care plays in musculoskeletal health and overall wellness. Explain the benefits and applications of complementary therapies such as massage therapy, red light therapy, and body scans. Observe and describe how X-rays are used to inform treatment plans in a clinical setting. Apply professional communication skills while interacting with patients and clinical staff. Exhibit organizational and administrative skills in managing patient records, scheduling, and front-office tasks. Recognize how a multidisciplinary approach can enhance patient outcomes. Reflect on ethical considerations and patient confidentiality within a healthcare environment. Identify potential career pathways within chiropractic and integrative health fields.

Opportunity Training 

Clinic Orientation & Procedures – Overview of clinic operations, workflow, and safety protocols. (1-2 sessions with ongoing reminders) HIPAA & Patient Confidentiality – Training on ethical standards and legal requirements for handling patient information.(1-2 sessions with ongoing reminders) Front Office & Administrative Systems – Instruction on scheduling software, filing systems, and patient intake processes.(Ongoing as needed) Professional Communication – Guidance on interacting with patients and staff in a professional, empathetic manner.(Ongoing) Observation Skills – Training on how to effectively observe chiropractic adjustments, massage therapy sessions, and use of X-rays or red light therapy without interfering in care. (ongoing) Basic Anatomy & Terminology Review – Introductory training to help students understand musculoskeletal terminology used in the clinic.(1-2 sessions with ongoing reminders) Equipment & Safety Protocols – Orientation on safe use of clinic equipment such as body scan technology and red light therapy devices (observation only where appropriate). (As needed depending on equipment utilized) Customer Service Skills – Training in creating a welcoming environment and responding to patient needs. (Ongoing)
