The Cheer/Dance Coach plays an essential role in creating a fun, safe, and structured environment where students can thrive. Responsibilities include transporting and returning program equipment, maintaining equipment quality, and communicating needs to the District Coordinator. Practice plans are designed and implemented to help students build a strong foundation in cheer and dance movements, positions, and routines. By providing consistent instruction and positive leadership, this role not only ensures smooth program operations but also fosters student growth—building confidence, encouraging teamwork, and strengthening school spirit through engaging cheer and dance experiences.
Leadership and Team Management: Guiding students and assistant coaches, fostering a positive environment, and modeling sportsmanship. Instructional Skills: Planning and executing age-appropriate practices, teaching fundamental movements, and adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs. Communication: Effectively collaborating with coordinators, staff, students, and families, and providing clear guidance during practices. Organizational Skills: Managing equipment, scheduling practices, and coordinating logistics for smooth program operation. Problem-Solving: Addressing unexpected challenges such as behavioral issues, schedule changes, or equipment needs. Confidence and Presence: Developing poise in leading groups and engaging students in high-energy, structured activities.
