MentorAt — Gamers Academy
The coaching and mentoring role at Gamers Academy involves guiding adolescents athletes in both athletic development and personal growth. Responsibilities include leading warm ups and drills, organizing scrimmages, and providing constructive technique feedback. Coaches also foster teamwork, resilience, and confidence by offering encouragement, emotional support, and recognition of progress and achievements. The position requires patience, adaptability, and the ability to connect with a diverse group of players to create a supportive and motivating environment.
By the end of this opportunity, students will have learned leadership and communication skills by guiding and motivating adolescent athletes. They will develop patience, adaptability, and problem solving abilities through working with a diverse group of players. Students will have gained the ability to provide constructive feedback, foster teamwork, and build supportive relationships.
The training for this position consists of an orientation to the facility, including a walkthrough of equipment locations and practice spaces. New coaches and mentors are introduced to the structure of practices so they can effectively assist during drills, warm up, and scrimmages.
