Grant Writing & Advancement InternAt — A Reason To Survive

Opportunity Summary 

We are looking for a Grant Writing and Advancement intern who is able to provide grant and administrative advancement support to the Advancement Coordinator. The intern supports the Advancement Coordinator in community-centric development. The person in this role is a strategic thinker who executes day-to-day organizational development activities with a special focus on researching, prospecting and writing new grant opportunities. The Grant Writing Intern will be asked to think both big picture about the larger efforts of the organization, along with performing highly detailed and creative work daily to meet the impact and development goals of ARTS.

Opportunity Training 

- Mandated Reporter Training: Mandated Reporter Training for volunteers provides an overview of the definitions, requirements and protections of the Child Abuse & Neglect Reporting Act. - ARTS Advancement Intro: An introduction to ARTS Advancement Department team members, and department structure within the organization. Training will include a lesson on organizational goals, objectives, and policies and procedures and the role Advancement plays in moving the organization as a whole. - Grants @ ARTS: An introduction to the grants prospecting process and how grants play a critical role within a non-profit structure. Intern will be shown examples of the grant process at ARTS and will be encouraged to pursue an interest in grants through articles and textbook excerpts. - Prospecting Grants: An introduction to the Prospecting/Research component of the grant seeking process. In this training we will go over Foundation and Corporate giving partners and how to research their giving capacity and giving trends.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Students will have to complete a 30 minute assessment interview. Once offered the opportunity students will need to complete a LiveScan and TB test, as well as complete a 2 hour Mandated Reporter training for Volunteers. ARTS reimburses up to $100 for the cost of the LiveScan and TB test.
