Members directly engage with community members to deliver vital services and referrals, effectively addressing critical needs related to economic mobility, housing challenges, and numerous other areas. Brooklyn Justice Initiatives is actively seeking an Intake Specialist. Our mission is to leverage every arrest as a pivotal opportunity for transformation, offering meaningful early diversion, pretrial supervised release, and post-conviction sentencing options. By doing so, we aim to significantly alter the trajectory of individuals’ lives and prevent unnecessary incarceration.
Developed case management and client engagement skills by supporting intake, maintaining accurate case notes, and assisting clients in navigating social services and court requirements. Gain knowledge of the criminal legal system and alternatives to incarceration through observing court processes, preparing progress reports, and collaborating with attorneys, social workers, and program staff.
