Opportunity Summary 

The Escondido Creek Conservancy is hosting a restoration ecology intern cohort for 2026. If you are interested in developing hands-on skills in ecological stewardship and wildlife management, then this is the internship for you!

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Arc GIS mapping, invasive plant management, native plant restoration techniques, endangered species monitoring, wildlife trail camera research, and much more

Opportunity Training 

Students will learn many hands-on restoration techniques and office-based land management tasks.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Prepare for field work which may include long days outside, hiking a few miles, exposure to wildlife including ticks and rattlesnakes. Safety is our goal and all risks will be discussed prior to the field. Experience in the outdoors is ideal.

Opportunity Application Instructions 

This position will take place in our Northern San Diego preserves. Ideally the candidate lives somewhat near Escondido and is ready for travel to our office located in Mountain Meadow Preserve. The interview process will conclude after resumes are reviewed. Apply early as we will not be reviewing on a rolling basis. We would like the position to start soon, potentially February.
