Legal InternAt — Greer & Associates APC
For a student interested in becoming an attorney, this internship provides a real‑world way to absorb the lifestyle and day‑to‑day environment of legal practice. Interns will assist attorneys by preparing and submitting documents to the courts, helping with calendaring, tracking trial dates and submission deadlines, organizing case files, and supporting the office during busy legal turnovers. You’ll learn how to provide meaningful support to attorneys, understand how legal workflows operate, and gain an authentic view of what it’s like to work inside an active litigation law firm.
Interns will build strong communication skills by making and receiving phone calls, speaking with clients, and relaying information to attorneys. They will learn common legal terminology and begin applying it correctly in everyday office situations, helping them grow comfortable with the language of litigation. They will also practice preparing and organizing documents, supporting attorneys with deadline tracking, and maintaining accuracy in a detail‑focused environment—reflecting the firm’s emphasis on honest, reliable, and professional legal service. Students may also have opportunities to sit in on depositions or hearings and take notes, providing firsthand insight into legal procedures, attorney strategy, and the realities of courtroom‑related work. By observing how attorneys handle cases and working alongside staff during busy periods, interns leave with a clearer sense of professional expectations, workplace pace, and the daily rhythm of an active law firm.
Greer & Associates provides structured training to help interns build confidence and perform their responsibilities effectively. During the first one to two weeks, students receive an orientation covering office procedures, communication expectations, and the firm’s standards for reliable, detailed, and professional legal service. Interns are trained in phone etiquette, message taking, organizing case documents, and understanding filing types commonly used in the firm’s litigation work, which includes professional liability, consumer protection, employment and labor matters, asset protection, and business litigation.
Students interested in applying should submit two items: an updated résumé and a brief statement outlining their interest in interning with Greer & Associates. These materials should be sent directly to the site’s primary contact for review. Once both documents are received, the application will be considered complete.
