Mindfulness InternshipAt — CSUSM Center for Contemplative Practices

Opportunity Summary 

1. Develop a daily personal mindfulness practice. 2. Attend at least one daily dose of mindfulness session weekly through the semester to practice in a group setting. 3. Attend at least two CCP workshops during the semester. 4. Participate in a research/service project offered by CCP and write a reflective/research paper. 5. Do a public presentation about the internship experience at the end of the semester.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

1. Develop mindfulness skills relevant to their chosen career path. 2. Equip students with knowledge and skills to navigate ongoing uncertainty with resiliency and compassion, ensuring their success in the face of current and future challenges. 3. Develop lifelong skills that foster increased mental, physical, social, and emotional well-being. 4. Develop research skills with regard to the impact of mindfulness.

Opportunity Training 

Attend workshops and daily dose of mindfulness sessions to learn about and develop mindfulness skills. Work with faculty director on research projects who will provide training on literature review skills, data collection and analysis skills, presentation skills.
