Program LeaderAt — Think Together
This internship with Think Together at Temecula Elementary provides hands-on experience working with TK and Kindergarten students in an after-school program. The opportunity allows me to support students with academics, English Learner support, and enrichment activities while gaining practical experience in an educational setting.
By the end of this opportunity, students will gain hands-on experience working with elementary-aged children, particularly TK and Kindergarten students, in an educational and nonprofit setting. Students will develop skills in supporting early literacy, basic math, and English Learner instruction, as well as assisting with hands-on STEM enrichment activities. They will strengthen communication, patience, and classroom support skills while learning how to create a safe, positive, and structured learning environment. Students will also gain experience collaborating with program staff, following school routines, and understanding how after-school programs support student success. Overall, this opportunity helps build confidence and practical skills for students interested in careers in education or child development.
Students will receive on-the-job training from the Site Coordinator and experienced program staff at the start of the internship. Training includes program expectations, student safety procedures, behavior management strategies, and guidance on supporting academic and enrichment activities. Ongoing support and feedback will be provided throughout the internship as needed. Because students will be working with minors, Mandated Reporter training is required and provided prior to or at the beginning of the placement to ensure student safety and compliance with school and district policies.
