We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Data and Systems Coordinator to oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of our data systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and security, as well as providing technical support to staff and users.
1. Technical & Digital Skills Outcomes By the end of the internship, students will be able to: ✔ Manage and organize data systems • Maintain clean, accurate spreadsheets for vendors, volunteers, youth participants, and events • Use naming conventions, folder structures, and data hygiene practices • Track attendance, payments, and program participation ✔ Use digital tools to support operations • Navigate Google Workspace (Sheets, Forms, Drive, Docs) • Use CRM-style tools or dashboards (your Vendor Dashboard, intern tracker, etc.) • Support the setup of simple automations (forms → sheets → reports) ✔ Build simple reporting tools • Create weekly and monthly reports • Summarize vendor participation, youth hours, or event metrics • Visualize data using charts or tables 2. Market & Program Operations Outcomes Interns will understand how data supports real-world community programs: ✔ Vendor & Market Operations • Track vendor confirmations, payments, and attendance • Maintain market rosters and booth assignments • Support the creation of vendor lists, maps, and schedules ✔ Youth & Volunteer Tracking • Log service-learning hours • Track youth participation in Passport Program activities • Maintain sign-in sheets and digital attendance logs ✔ Event Support • Collect and organize data from food distributions, star parties, and market events • Support evaluation surveys and feedback forms 3. Communication & Systems Outcomes Interns will learn how to communicate clearly and professionally through data: ✔ Professional Communication • Draft clear updates for staff based on data findings • Communicate discrepancies or missing information • Support team members by providing organized, accessible data ✔ Systems Thinking • Understand how data flows across programs (vendors → markets → reports) • Identify gaps or inefficiencies in systems • Recommend improvements to workflows or tracking methods 4. Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking Outcomes Interns will develop confidence in navigating real operational challenges: ✔ Troubleshooting • Identify errors in spreadsheets or forms • Resolve duplicate entries, missing data, or inconsistencies • Improve data collection methods ✔ Decision Support • Provide insights that help staff make informed decisions • Recognize patterns in vendor attendance, youth engagement, or event turnout 5. Deliverables Interns Will Produce By the end of their hours, interns will have created: • A clean, organized data folder for their assigned program • Updated vendor, youth, or volunteer tracking sheets • A weekly or monthly report summarizing key metrics • A simple dashboard or visual summary (if applicable) • Documentation of processes they improved or created 7.
