Care Program AideAt — Ivey Ranch Park Association, Inc.
Students who assist in the Adult Day Program will assist with goal-based activities that center around functional skills training, vocational exposure and development, and leisure activities. Activities include: art, crafts, science, sensory, gardening, food prep and/or baking, mastic math and money, life skills and activity centers. If and when possible, students can go on local, walkable community outings with the participants and staff to the library, grocery store, park etc.. Participants are ages 18+. Students who assist in the School-Age Program will assist with games, music, art, science , indoor play, outdoor play, and more in a before and afterschool care setting. Participants range from 5-22 years old.
Students will gain exposure to children with special needs and adults with special needs in a care setting. Students will be exposure to structured curriculum designed to meet the individualized goals of the participants.
Students will receive hands-on training from Care Program Staff. Mandated Reporter training is not required for student volunteers. All Care Program Staff are up to date on Mandated Reporter Training.
Students must contact the Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@iveyranch.com to schedule an interview for consideration. If approved, students will need to submit a Care Program Volunteer Application, Health Screening Report form, results of a current Tuberculosis (TB) test (must be within the last year), provide proof of TDAP and MMR vaccines, a Criminal Record Statement form, and complete a LiveScan background check (including FBI/DOJ) at the Oceanside Police Department (the cost is $100).
