Opportunity Summary 

This internship at All Star Physical Therapy provides a hands-on introduction to the clinical environment. Interns will support our team by preparing treatment stations and equipment, ensuring a seamless flow for patient care. This is an excellent opportunity for Kinesiology students to observe professional practice and gain exposure to outpatient rehabilitation.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Students will develop a foundational understanding of physical therapy workflows, including the technical setup of various modalities and equipment. Beyond gaining clinical observation hours, interns will become proficient in the proper cueing and oversight of therapeutic exercises, learning the specific purposes behind each movement. By developing a clinical eye for patient safety and form correction, students will learn exactly what to look out for during movement patterns. Additionally, they will refine their professional communication skills by learning how to effectively interact with patients and relay pertinent information to the clinical team.

Opportunity Training 

Interns will receive an orientation on clinic safety, HIPAA compliance, and equipment handling. Ongoing "on-the-job" training will be provided by the Lead PT Technician regarding specific exercise protocols and station setup. Mandated Reporter training is not required.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Students will be required to stand for long periods (4-5hrs) and perform light-to heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) to move equipment.
