Opportunity Summary 

Interns have the opportunity to be involved in 1 of our 5 programs these include: 1. Community Health/Seniors Program 2. Community Health (Asthma) Internship 3. Tobacco Prevention and Advocacy Internship 4. Environmental Health Internship 5. Communication and Marketing Internship. The project and work will be specific to the program they are interested in working with.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

• Distribute respiratory equipment. • Outreach to target populations for health education delivery opportunities. • Prepare information dissemination bins for health fairs. • Assist with the completion of reports. • Collect, analyze, and manage epidemiological data for evaluation.• Assist with the delivery of agency health education program for target populations. • Review and update presentations and/or handouts, or create new ones as needed. • Schedule services, events such as health fairs, presentations, and other activities in the community. • Assist with outreach and presentations for Senior Health centers on various health topics. • Conduct lung-health screenings, including spirometry, blood pressure and oxygen saturation screening. • Provide tobacco cessation information and assistance.

Opportunity Training 

Health Fair Training are provided for every intern. Program specific trainings will be provided by the individual program managers you are workin with.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Students will be attending health fairs and possibly conducting presentations for organizations, schools, and senior centers.
