International Exchange Program InternAt — CSUSM American Language and Culture Institute

Opportunity Summary 

A 95-hour paid internship in the field of international education from June 22-July 24, 2026, at CSUSM. This is a great opportunity for students majoring in Communication, Global Studies, Education, Political Science, and other related fields. The intern will support an exchange program for international students aged 18-22. The program focuses on STEM, innovation, civic engagement, American culture and English language, leadership, and community service.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Assist with the project from start to finish including the following: • Serve as CSUSM Ambassador Team lead: o Lead Orientation for ambassadors o Coordinate and communicate with ambassadors o Take attendance at program events • Create, distribute, collect, and organize program materials • Assist with Orientation for INSPIRE participants • Assist with implementation of program components (e.g., team-building activity, etc.) • Attend selected program events (TBD) • Escort students to event locations to ensure timely arrivals; track attendance • Liaise between INSPIRE participants, CSUSM ambassadors, and INSPIRE project staff on a daily basis Desired Qualifications • Independent • Creative • Strong communicator • Inclusive/culturally competent • Detail-oriented • Reliable

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Internship involves spending some time outdoors during student activities or trips. Reasonable measures against overheating, dehydration, and sun exposure should be taken during such events.
