Software Engineer InternAt — Robinhood Markets, Inc.
As a Software Engineer Intern at Robinhood, the student will join a high-impact engineering team responsible for building and scaling financial services. The intern will contribute to production-level codebases, participate in the full software development lifecycle, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features that democratize finance for millions of users. The role involves working with modern tech stacks, focusing on backend services, cloud infrastructure, and system reliability within a fast-paced DevOps environment.
By the end of this internship, the student will have gained professional experience in: Developing and deploying scalable microservices in a cloud-native environment (AWS/GCP). Utilizing industry-standard version control (Git/GitHub) and participating in rigorous peer code reviews. Implementing CI/CD pipelines and understanding GitOps workflows. Designing and optimizing APIs and database schemas for high-concurrency systems. Collaborating in an Agile/Scrum environment and communicating technical concepts to stakeholders.
The intern will undergo a comprehensive onboarding program covering Robinhood’s engineering standards, security protocols, and development environment. They will be paired with a dedicated senior engineer mentor for 1-on-1 weekly guidance, participate in team-wide technical deep-dives, and receive continuous feedback through the sprint planning and code review process. No Mandated Reporter training is required for this technical role.
