Habitat Restoration InternAt — San Diego Botanic Garden (aka Quail Botanical Gardens Foundation, Inc.)

Opportunity Summary 

This internship provides an opportunity for young professionals to gain hands-on experience in habitat restoration, invasive plant control, native plant propagation, and nursery management. Interns will assist SDBG restoration staff at our restoration sites by conducting planting, watering, weed removal and native seed collection. Interns will also assist SDBG staff at our restoration nursery.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Students will learn to identify native plant species, non native invasive plant species, and gain experience working in a native plant nursery.

Opportunity Training 

Students will learn habitat restoration skills including planting, weeding, native seed collection, and propagation. Students will also learn how to work with San Diego Botanic Garden staff and community volunteers at the restoration sites.
