Aspiring Scholars - CCN Peer AmbassadorAt — CSUSM - Cougar Care Network
MUST BE AN ASPIRING SCHOLARS PARTICIPANT. Assist with student outreach to share resources and encouragement to CSUSM students. Assist with Cougar Care Mobile Cart that travels throughout campus each weekday offering psychoeducational activities, giveaways, and resources to students. Assist with creating student activity ideas and implementation. Take photos and videos of student interactions and post to CCN Instagram with student permission. Create social media posts to reduce loneliness and isolation on campus, and encourage students, including educating them about campus resources for support.
Be kind, gentle, caring, outgoing, and positive. Experience taking photos and videos helpful as is making students feel comfortable during these interactions. Experience with Instagram and creating social media posts helpful. Ability to connect with CSUSM students and follow specific instructions set by CCN staff. Ability to recognize any student emergency situations so that a staff member is contacted to assist immediately. Ability to work as a team as peer ambassadors go out with the cart as a team.
Training in student outreach and connection, and cart protocol provided. Ambassador will not be responsible for care in emergency situations (which are extremely rare) but should be able to contact a supervisor or staff member right away in such cases.
