Athletic Training Intern At — Palomar College Athletics
Assist athletic trainers in the day to day operations of the training room such as hydration set up, taping, rehabilitation and help with game day coverage.
By the end of an athletic training internship, students may gain valuable knowledge and hands-on experience in injury prevention, assessment, and rehabilitation. They may learn how to recognize common athletic injuries, provide basic first aid and assist in emergency situations. Students can also develop skills in taping, bracing, stretching, strengthening, and therapeutic exercises. In addition, the internship can help students improve their communication, professionalism, teamwork, and decision-making skills while working with athletes, coaches, and other healthcare professionals. Overall, students will have the opportunity to apply what they have learned in the classroom (if applicable) to real-world situations and gain a better understanding of the responsibilities and daily tasks involved in athletic training.
We will go over how different modalities work in the training room, what the room policies are, and how to be successful as an intern during this experience. No prior knowledge is required, we just ask to come in with excitement to learn.
