Case Support Intern At — Escondido Education COMPACT
Intern will work alongside program staff to support mentoring services, group facilitation activities, and youth development programs. Interns will gain valuable experience working with at-risk and system-impacted youth while learning leadership, communication, and engagement skills. Responsibilities may include assisting with workshops, mentoring activities, program events, and providing support to supervisors in daily program operations. Through hands-on experience and ongoing supervision, interns will develop group facilitation skills, learn effective youth engagement strategies, and gain exposure to trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches that promote positive outcomes for youth and families
Students will develop leadership, communication, group facilitation, and mentoring skills while gaining hands-on experience working with at-risk and system-impacted youth. Interns will learn effective youth engagement strategies, trauma-informed practices, and strengths-based approaches to supporting positive youth development. Through direct supervision and participation in mentoring and group activities, students will enhance their ability to build professional relationships, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, facilitate youth programs, and respond appropriately to the diverse needs of youth and families
Interns will be trained and supervised by staff on all assigned tasks, with ongoing support and feedback provided throughout their placement. They will also have the opportunity to attend monthly trainings focused on developing skills and best practices for working with program participants.
Students will be asked to complete COMPACT's volunteer application, which can be found on our site: https://www.educationcompact.org/volunteer-form-adults -- As well as submit a resume with any experience working with youth. Students will be asked to interview and if selected for placement they will then need to complete a background check (covered by our agency).
