Eco Tour and Community Engagement InternAt — The Ocean Foundation / Ocean Connectors
Position Overview The Eco Tour & Restoration Intern will support the Eco Tour Manager in planning and executing Eco Tours, as well as assisting with Community Engagement efforts, including Outreach Events, Kayak Cleanups, and Habitat Restoration Days. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in environmental education, conservation, and ecotourism to gain hands-on experience in fieldwork, public engagement, and nonprofit operations. Key Responsibilities Eco Tour Support: Assist with the coordination and execution of guided Eco Tours, including kayak, birding, and tide pooling tours. Engage with tour participants by sharing environmental education messaging and answering questions. Help with tour logistics, including equipment setup, check-in, and safety briefings. Document tours through photography, social media content, and participant feedback collection. Community Engagement: Represent Ocean Connectors at outreach events, engaging with the public and promoting our programs.

Student will have 2 hour onboarding, and 6 hours of initial training. They will also receive hands on training and supervision for all events in the field. Student is assigned a mentor for guidance and scheduling. All training materials are also provided in writing via a shared google drive. No mandated reporter training is required.
Student will engage in physical activity including standing, sitting, lifting up to 50 lbs, water activities (pfd's and safety equipment required), student will be required to conduct a background check and provide proof of negative TB test.
