Bilingual Curriculum Support MentorAt — Independent Minds Academy

Independent Minds Academy's Bilingual Mentor works at the intersection of instructional design and one-on-one mentorship, helping students pursue self-directed learning goals within a standards-aligned, student-centered program — with additional, dedicated support for Spanish-speaking students and English Language Learners. Under the supervision of credentialed educators and delivered remotely through Google Classroom and Google Meet, interns design high-interest lessons, instructional videos, and digital resources; develop scaffolded materials and language supports in Spanish; and guide students through Socratic seminars and individualized mentoring in both languages. Projects such as: mentoring students individually, facilitating small-group instruction and Socratic seminars, building learning experiences across subject areas (history, science, mathematics, language arts, and health), and developing scaffolded supports for Spanish-speaking and bilingual learners. Fluency in Spanish is required. Well suited to bilingual students majoring in education, world languages, linguistics, Spanish, or the sciences and humanities.
