Tutor At — Mesa Tutoring and Computing Centers
Provide academic tutoring and learning support to San Diego Mesa College students, primarily in Anatomy and related science courses. Assist students with understanding course concepts, developing effective study strategies, preparing for exams, and becoming more confident and independent learners. Work directly with students in a professional and collaborative learning environment while developing my own communication, teaching, and mentoring skills.
Through this internship, I hope to develop the teaching, communication, and mentoring skills that I will need to become a college professor in the future. By tutoring Anatomy and working directly with college students, I want to learn how to explain difficult concepts in different ways based on each student's learning needs. I also hope to improve my ability to create a positive learning environment, communicate professionally, and help students become more confident and independent learners. This experience will allow me to gain hands-on teaching experience while learning more about what it takes to effectively support students at the college level.
