Patient Care Technician IAt — Fresenius Medical Care
Provide direct patient care as a member of the hemodialysis healthcare team under the supervision of a registered nurse. Obtain and document patient vital signs and weights, assess vascular access, perform vascular access cannulation, initiate and monitor dialysis treatments, and monitor patients for changes in condition. Set up, test, and operate hemodialysis equipment while maintaining infection-control and safety standards. Perform post-treatment procedures, collect laboratory specimens, document treatment information, and communicate with patients and members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support safe, effective, and patient-centered care.
To develop safe and effective patient-care skills by obtaining vital signs, weights, and monitoring patients during dialysis. I also aim to develop competency in assessing vascular access and performing cannulation, while gaining knowledge of hemodialysis equipment and procedures. Additionally, strengthen communication, teamwork, infection-control, and clinical skills.
