The Happier Life Project is a Recovery Community Organization that shifts perspective reduces stigma, and provides hope around recovery. Our foundation of peer-to-peer relationships lets us meet people on their chosen pathway of healing and support them in discovering the answers to their wellness. Combining evidence-based practices with a holistic approach, we connect our peers to a reliable network of services and share our lived experience that recovery is possible and everyone can achieve a happier life.

Every parent who leaves their child in someone else’s care know that their child is safe; that they are having fun and growing their minds in the process; and that the person taking care of them treats them just like they would their child. We regard safety as absolute, laughter, learning, and love as unconditional. We provide a safe, fun place where children are challenged and appreciated for the unique individuals that they are. As a family-owned and operated center, we offer the families enrolled the flexibility, personalization, nurturing connections.

N Zone Sports provides youth sports programs that emphasize fun, skill development, and character building. We offer recreational leagues, afterschool enrichment programs, and sports camps designed to introduce children to the fundamentals of a variety of sports—including soccer, basketball, flag football, cheer, Dance, and more. Our programs are built around teaching teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence in a supportive environment.

YMCA Childcare Resource Service (CRS), a department of our Y providing services countywide, opened its doors in 1980 to foster the development of early care and education professionals, educate parents, and help families pay for child care. Since its inception, YMCA CRS has served more than 1 million children and parents throughout San Diego County.

The mission of The Preuss School UC San Diego is to provide an intensive college preparatory curriculum and a learning environment in which scholars develop their academic, personal, and social abilities to become lifelong learners and global citizens who contribute to and participate in a multicultural, democratic society. Our vision is to transform the lives of students who are from low-income families and who are traditionally underrepresented in college, with the goal of qualifying them for university admission as the first generation in their families to attend 4 year universities.

The Rescue House, Inc. is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization dedicated to assisting cats through its rescue, foster, and adoption activities. We find loving homes for unwanted, abandoned, homeless, and abused cats. We open our arms to socialized, people-friendly cats that need assistance, regardless of age and handicap. We are a true no-kill cat rescue organization. The Rescue House’s mission is to eliminate the need for our organization. We strive toward this goal through education to increase public awareness of responsible pet ownership and an aggressive spay/neuter program.

The Veterans Art Project (VetArt) is a San Diego based arts organization serving Veterans, active duty, spouses, dependents, and caregivers. Our mission is to provide free, process-intensive art instruction and engagement proven to help participants, some with post-traumatic stress, TBI, and MST, find their voice and work through the life-changing process of transitioning from military to life.
