Religious Education TeacherAt — Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of San Dieguito
You will be working directly with the Director of Religious Education. Depending on the year or semester, you will be placed as a co-teacher in a classroom setting, or will be doing special programming based on social justice for the entire program.
We are looking for a candidate who is willing to not only answer difficult social justice questions from children/youth, we are looking for someone who is actively seeking to better understand the social justice issues that continue to challenge us individually and as a nation. The person should be an excellent communicator, willing to take direction easily from the Director of Religious Education, collaborate with a co-teacher, and bring enthusiasm into the classroom
Looking for a deeper understanding of classroom situations, how to successfully navigate questions from children regarding classism, sexism, gender, ablism, racism, privilege, etc.. We hope that this position will merge theory into practice and will help the service learning candidate put the tools that they have learned in the classroom, into action.
They will need to be adept at Zoom and email, connecting virtually with parents and children, and writing summaries of what was learned and talked about each week.
