Opportunity Summary
Position Description
Intern would be responsible for coordinating and conducting coaching sessions for a science Olympiad event with a small group of students weekly for 1-1.5 hours.
Position would include 1-1.5 hours per week of instruction plus outside of class prep time to prepare for sessions. Coaching sessions would be Mondays or Tuesdays weekly from 3 to 4:30 on campus in Carlsbad.

Desired Qualifications
- Applicant should be interested in mentoring students and developing their expertise in a field of science.
- Applicant should be a science major with excellent communication and people skills.
- Applicant will have guidance of a school site science Olympiad coordinator, but will be responsible for content of each session, developing an engaging experience that helps students master the topics and skills for their assigned science Olympiad event.
- Applicant needs to be a positive role model for young aspiring scientists. TB test and CUSD volunteer application must be on file with district.
