Opportunity Summary 

Position Description

We're looking for an intern(s) to assist in developing and managing a number of social media campaigns for our school district. We'd like to develop a series of limited-duration, multi-platform social media information campaigns to amplify the good things happening in our district.

Learning Objectives and Outcomes

  • Develop a series of social media campaigns. Each campaign would be for a fixed period of time (possibly 4 to 8 weeks) using a variety of social media platforms (including, but not limited to, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Snapchat).
  • Use photo and video to tell a positive story.
  • Collaborate with staff and students to generate content.
  • Develop clear goals and objectives for each social media campaign.
  • Develop measurable outcomes.
  • Create a clear brand identity for the school district.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience developing information campaigns using social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat.
  • Background and interest in public relations and/or marketing is a plus.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Well organized, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of staff and students to research positive stories and transform those stories into a compelling social media campaign.
  • Ability to edit photos and video.
  • Creativity a must.

 

Length of position: We need at least one intern each semester, for the duration of the semester.

Hours per Week: Flexible; probably 3 to 4 hours per week, though some projects may require more time.
