Internship Position Description Interns working for the Office of Student Affairs engage in supporting student and identity development, student enrichment, leadership, student wellness and support community advocacy.
Experience to be gained
The Interns for the Office of Student Affairs will gain experience in the field of higher education including: basic needs, leadership training development, para-professional counseling, student support, student conduct, education district policies and procedures, crisis intervention, advising, cultural competencies. Also, an overview of matters related to: human resources, supervision, community partnerships, food and housing resource support, and working with disproportionately impacted students including; formerly incarcerated students, low income students, and students from marginalized populations.
Desired Qualifications
1. Currently enrolled at California State University San Marcos
2. Be in good academic standing
3. Minimum GPA of a 3.0
4. Interested in a field related to the following majors: Higher Education, Social Work, Counseling, Human Development, Sociology, Justice Studies, or Psychology.
**Note: Interns for case management must be currently enrolled in a Master's Level Program.
