Internships at Jessica’s House provide students with a hands-on experience as they participate in supporting children, teens, and families who are grieving the death of a parent or sibling. Jessica’s House is guided by the principles that:

• Within each individual, there is a natural capacity to heal
• Grief is a natural reaction to loss
• The duration and intensity of grief are unique for each individual
• Caring and acceptance assist in the healing process

This internship will offer students the opportunity to be a part of several aspects of our peer support program including, but not limited to:

• Support group training and grief education
• Opportunities to participate in program development
• Understanding all aspects of support group readiness
• Support group facilitation
• Community outreach
• Research projects
• Office support

Intern supervisors are committed to creating an environment where an intern gains the best possible outcome from their internship and receive experience working in a grief support therapeutic setting.
