Opportunity Summary 

Main task would be to travel to production fields to do maturity checks in the field on ripeness and quality of fruit to be harvested. Also assist in the creation and collection of field maps and pesticide reports from growers.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Student will have learned when a tomato field is ready for production.
Student will have learned which tomato varieties are used for certain products being made at the processing facility.
Student will have learned how to create field maps and why pesticide records are important to have on file.

Opportunity Training 

Student will start off by riding around with Field Operations Supervisor or Director of Field Operations when first hired.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Student will be driving frequently throughout the internship and will need to make sure to have safe driving habits.
