Opportunity Summary 

Students can assist shelter staff with greeting clients, preparing and serving meals in our dinner hall, organizing our clothes closest and other similar tasks.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Students will have the opportunity to engage with people in the unhoused population. Students will learn to prepare and serve meals alongside our shelter staff and engage with our dinner volunteers. Students will learn the importance of showing up on time and communicating within the workplace.

Opportunity Training 

Students will work alongside shelter or office staff.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Students' safety is our top priority. Staff and Security make safety a top priority. Security uses a metal detector wand and pats down guests to ensure safety. Students are always supervised by staff.
