Opportunity Summary 

Adult and Aging Services mission is to advocate for and protect seniors and dependent adults; ensuring their safety, choice, independence, and quality of life. Our team provides protection through our APS program where we investigate abuse or neglect, coordinate services to increase safety, case management and partnerships with the community. Our IHSS program completes assessments of adults and children who have difficulty with activities of daily living and require in-home care to remain safely in their home. Our Area Agency on Aging has a large number of resources including Senior Nutrition, mental health wellness, falls prevention programs, digital literacy, healthy insurance advocacy, Long Term Care Ombudsman and many more.

Opportunity Training 

For all internship opportunities we provide our On The Job training to the students to be able to perform independently. At the end of the internship, the student would be able to successfully complete the different assessments in either program independently and along with their task supervisor provide case management.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Students will be going into the 'field' and engaging clients in their homes. They may encounter unclean environments with/out visible pests, individuals suffering with a behavioral health concern, and/or numerous pets.
