STEM CareerReadyU Internship

STEM CRU is a program for incoming freshmen (2 yrs. of eligibility) and first-year transfer students (1 yr. of eligibility) that provides on and off-campus internship experiences in collaboration with faculty and local STEM industry partners. Our goal is to support the smooth transition to employment in the STEM field after graduation.

The university(meaning professor or dean) must reach out to me to request the placement (not the student) and they must complete our fingerprint/clearance requirement (there is no cost to the student) and then once cleared I share the placement information.
The professor or Dean must reach out via email, not the student and the student is NOT to go directly to sites/admin/teachers. Professors can send lists of students if their class has multiple students wanting to select from SUSD.

| Must complete livescan through SUSD. LIBS students CANNOT work directly with students. All fieldwork and/or student teachers must receive fingerprint/background clearance through SUSD’s Department of Public Safety PRIOR to beginning any fieldwork hours and/or student teaching placements. Directions for obtaining fingerprint clearance are as follows: Applicant needs to have a VALID ID (*California ID or California Driver’s License, Passport, ID or Driver’s License from another state or country), the Livescan paperwork, a current TB test (if printing as a volunteer) and a Be A Mentor (BAM) Profile that has been set up prior to arrival. Students must register as “student teacher” on the Be A Mentor website. All fields on the individual's portion on the Livescan form must be filled out in its entirety. Sometimes the best way to look up an individual for their appointment is via email so please be sure student teachers fill this out legibly. When the application is accepted students should receive an email. Scheduled appointments are no longer available, all individuals are first come, first served. Once an individual has been printed the time to be cleared varies based on the Department of Justice and FBI. Average ranges from 1 week to 1 month, but may vary. Each appointment takes approximately 30 minutes to process and print, hours are M-F, 8:00- 4:00 closed 12-1 for lunch. Last print time slot is at 3:30. Please contact FINGERPRINT@STOCKTONUSD.NET for additional questions. As soon as she receives fingerprint clearance, she will need to forward the email from SUSD Dept. of Public Safety to me directly. Once that is received I will reach out to let you know of her official placement. |

SupHerb Farms, an herb manufacturing company, located in Turlock, CA has been in buisness since 1992. the company is a partnership of the global spice company, McCormick & Company and Daregal, a family owned and operated herb business in France. The predecessor company, Armanino Farms of California was also a family buisness that began in the early 1940's by servicing restraurants in San Francisco with fresj chives grown in their family's front yard. Over the years Armanino Farms grew into a major frozen herb company, broadening thier product line to include other herbs such as basil, dill and parsley and broadening thier customer base to include manufacturers such as McCormick, Nestle, and Kraft. They were also one of the pioneers in feeze-dried technology, chives being one of the first and successful products. Today, Supherb Farms is a comnpany with global custiomer base and a product line that includes not only frozen and freeze-droed herbs, but also specialty vegetables, blends, culinary herb pastes and purees.
