Opportunity Summary 

Facilitate course updates/improvements for PSYC 391. Critical thinking and other courses and intersect pysch and biology

A- or better in PSYC 391 and/or a background in biology

Intern will assist with course development and facilitation.  

TASKS
1. Providing examples/suggestions of new learning strategies/activities
2. Proofreading current materials
3. Effectively setting up course assignments/activities in Canvas
4. Accomplishing tasks/checking-in regarding tasks listed in weekly to-do list
5. Providing feedback to professor regarding perspectives of optimal student learning, both from personal classroom experiences and course facilitation

TRAINING 
1. Provide access to Moodle and Canvas & support them in learning these platforms
2. Share current teaching resources & strategies
3. Create weekly assignments/to-do lists to direct student work
4. Communicate with student regularly with positive and critical feedback
5. Encourage students to think creatively & feel safe in sharing their thoughts

OUTCOMES
1. Become more proficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
2. Have insight into various learning strategies that may help improve student experience
3. Utilize distance platforms related to online learning (e.g., Canvas)
4. Proofreading & effectively communicate via written word
5. Integrate creativity into academia
