DESCRIPTION: This is an opportunity to work the Public Relations department of Square Tree Publishing. We are seeking a resourceful intern who can assist in all aspects of public relations, social media, and advertising development to promote Square Tree Publishing books and their authors.

Square Tree already has some media contacts and would like to develop out more connections for media, newspapers, and podcasts.

Square Tree Publishing is a faith-based company that believes our author's messages matter, and we want to promote those messages to the world.

YOU: Incredibly strong desire to learn the ins and outs of public relations. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle multiple, immediate tasks while paying close attention to detail is a must. Ability to work as a member of a team and to carry out assignments. Basic technical and computer skills a must (Microsoft Office, Google Drive, MAC OS X) Advanced technical and editing skills a huge plus, but not required (Adobe Creative Suite [Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator], Wordpress).

The internship will provide a context for student to gain practical experience to build his or her portfolio. Ideally, intern should have a working knowledge of the public relations industry. The intern will be taught to tell stories through a series of strategic images and videos to pitch media.

The internship hours can be flexible to class and work schedules. However, the intern will be expected to complete assigned work, and be accountable to commitments. Internship will include an estimated 8-10 hours per week or more. Candidates should be dependable, reliable, and enthusiastic. Candidates should demonstrate initiative and commitment.

Marketing & Sales Funnels training

Social Media Influencers and Outreach

Training:

\n

New intern orientation and weekly mentoring by CEO/Founder. Weekly training on various duties including, but not limited to, social media posting, filming, editing, interviews, scheduling, etc.

\n

Learning Outcomes:

\n

The internship will provide a context for student to gain practical experience to build his or her portfolio. The intern will be taught to tell stories through videos to pitch media. The student will gain knowledge about the public relations field.
