Graduate Intern, Move More, Eat HealthyAt — Providence, St. Jude Medical Center
Job Summary: Responsible for interfacing with the Academic Internship Coordinator, PSJMC MMEH Program Coordinators, PSJMC Community Services Manager, Director, Event Coordinators/ Staff, and all other PSJMC MMEH partners for communicating MMEH Event planning, scheduling, and implementation. Assist with coordinating and providing indirect and direct nutrition education, cooking demonstrations, and physical activity classes that include age-appropriate cardio, strength, and flexibility components. Help manage and supervise undergraduate MMEH student interns. Assist with delegating and completing data entry and follow up calls. Collaborate with MMEH leaders to determine nutrition education topics, cooking demonstration recipes, and physical activity education focus for dissemination in MMEH events and social media outlets. Track, document, and report in virtual event and class participation to PSJMC MMEH Program Coordinators. Assist PSJMC MMEH Program Coordinators in executing the Resident Leadership Academy (RLA) and Youth Resident Leadership Academy (YRLA). Review undergraduate student intern social media posts using CANVA. Attend PSJMC MMEH collaborative and sub-committee meetings.

Tasks:
5. Learn and implement nutrition and physical activity education curriculum.
6. Assist with conducting participant follow up calls and inputting data.
7. Report participation count to SJMC MMEH Program Coordinator
8. work with Event Coordinators/Staff and Center Coordinators/Staff as needed.
9. Assist Healthy Communities initiative Manager with special projects as directed.
10. support MMEH Coordinators with implementation of Resident Leadership Academy Program.
11. Assist with social media (e.g. Face Book, Instagram) and website postings
Training:
Interns will be provided explanation of Providence St Jude Medical Center's Mission, vision, goals and values. Interns will learn how the Move More Eat Healthy initiative activities supports the mission, values and goals of PSJMC. Interns will learn about each of the nutrition and physical activity curriculum to be implemented in the community, how to sign up for events, record their time, appropriate dress and professionalism. Interns will obtain their PSJMC ID badge and role play prior to participating in the MMEH campaign activities/events.
Learning outcomes:
1. Intern will demonstrate understanding of nutrition education curriculums taught at Move More Eat Healthy community events/activities.
2. Intern will identify Move More Eat Healthy participant data that needs to be collected and recorded from MMEH events/activities.
3. Intern will demonstrate knowledge of follow up call procedures by completing follow up calls using phone call script and entering in data into MMEH data excel sheet.
4. Intern will work with Program Supervisors & Community Services Manager on Community Health Improvement special projects.
