1st Step Learning Partners is hiring enthusiastic, energetic and creative Behavior Therapists to provide one-to-one Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children with Autism Spectrum Disorders in home and community settings. Behavior Therapists are responsible for implementing Behavior Intervention Plans and skill acquisition goals designed and supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Job Title: Behavior Therapist
Location: Garden Grove, Westminster, Santa Ana, and surrounding areas (North OC)
This is a part-time position with the potential of becoming full-time
Compensation & Benefits:
-paid training
-competitive hourly compensation: $18-$26 per hour depending on experience and education
- compensation for travel time and mileage between clients
- FREE supervision hours offered for individuals pursuing BCBA or BCaBA certification (No contract)

Responsibilities:
- provide quality 1:1 instruction to children with ASD in communication, social, play, and adaptive skills
- record objective daily data to reflect client progress toward goals
- maintain objective daily session notes
- maintain effective communication with team members and supervisors
Qualifications:
- Some college credits in ABA, Psychology, Education, or other related field. Bachelor's degree a plus
- Vietnamese-speaking and Spanish-speaking a plus, but not required.
- Current California driver's license and reliable transportation
- Proof of car insurance
- Willingness to submit fingerprints for background check and pass the background check
-TB clearance

Behavior Therapists will have the following list of duties:
Work with children in their homes, helping them learn how to communicate, play and learn!
Learn directly from Board Certified Behavior Analysts how to provide therapy to children and family in need of support
provide 1:1 therapy to children with autism where you’ll follow and use the plans from Board Certified Behavior Analysts will create and supervise behavior intervention plans
Teach communication skills, social skills, self-help skills, and play skills through Applied Behavior Analysis principles
Teach, learn and play with our clients to help them reach their highest potential
Accurately record treatment data
Engage in and ensure client safety
Maintain confidentiality of all clients and professional conduct at all times
Training:
Training includes general employer orientation, principles and concepts of Applied Behavior Analysis, ongoing weekly training with a supervisor in the field, job shadowing in the field.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the internship, student will be able to use Applied Behavior Analysis Strategies to help the individuals with Autism Specturm Disorder improve social interactions, language development, adaptive skills, and maintain positive behaviors.
