Chiropractic InternAt — Dr. Ken Cooper's Cooperstown Chiropractic
Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a Chiropractor. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include taking and recording notes, preparing patients for examination, and administering supplements as directed by the Chiropractor. And all other duties assigned by the supervisor.
The intern will demonstrate achievement of learning outcomes by performing administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of one of our Chiropractors or supervisors. The intern will be able to chart utilizing the program Chirotouch without the direction of a Chiropractic Assistant (but will be shadowed), the intern will be able to effectively communicate to patients regarding educational topics that are pre-designed weekly. The intern will be HIPAA complaint. The intern will be able to educate patients by explaining chiropractic exercises that patients complete at home and the intern must effectively communicate her statement of purpose she had developed after completion of Philosophy Formula to the Cooperstown Chiropractic Executive Team.
Training:
To help the student achieve the learning outcomes, the student will: complete an intern orientation, participate in weekly staff meetings and training, job shadowing, participate in Philosophy Formula hosted by Action Potential Holdings for personal and career development exercises, HIPAA certification, weekly scheduled one-on-one mentor meetings, available opportunities for training outside the practice(ie. Nutrition seminars through Standard Process).
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to: understand the best business practices of a high profile successful wellness practice, communicate effectively with patients and community and solidify a philosophy for the student's life or future practice.
