Athletic Academic Services Media InternAt — CSUF - Athletics

The Media intern in the Athletics Academic Services office will work in conjunction with the l Director and Assistant Director to provide programming for approximately 350 varsity student-athletes. Programming topics include but are not limited to: career development, leadership development, personal health, and other topics related to life after sport.

The intern will focus more on managing various social media platforms, including content creation. They will focus on helping with events as they relate to our department.  They will assist with the website as well as media platforms within our department.

Tasks:

* Public Speaking to enhance the growth and implementation of Life Skills programming
* Assist with the event marketing across multiple media platforms
*Assist with management of various social media platforms
* Maintain cooperative relationships with representatives of community, campus, faculty and Staff
* Confer and provide support in promotions, staging, processing and configuring of Career Expo, Titan Award Night and Senior Recognition Events
*Assist with the tracking of student-athlete completion of various programs

* Collaborate with SAAC committee and other student athletes about Life Skills opportunities and how it’s effectiveness will impact their future
* Introduce student athlete affairs and events across campus by forging partnerships for Life Skills Workshops and events.
*Assist with the tracking of student-athlete completion of various programs

Training:

Training with Assistant Director in the following:

* Information workshop insuring a great understanding of departmental goals and expectations
* Workplace training to suffice both in office and virtual office training:
* Communication: Phone, Email, Web, and Confidentiality
*Weekly meeting to discuss projects, progress, and development

Learning Outcomes:

* Develop skill in public speaking as well as voice and body expression
* Learn effective organization of creative ideas, thoughts and designs for promotional use
* Promoting school and community relations through participation in Life Skills Workshops, events, and social media
* Provide training in hands on learning situations that require sound educational and communication usage
