STEM Teacher - Robotics, Coding, Engineering w/LEGO & More!At — Brain Builders STEM Education

Opportunity Summary 

Brain Builders STEM Education is looking for amazing teachers to teach STEM at our Tustin center and Schools in Santa Ana. Depending on your schedule, there will be up to 12 hours/week available guaranteed with possibility for more hours depending on your schedule and skill set.

Hours available include:

(Must be available at least M/W and/or TU/TH) Monday-Thursday 1-5:00pm : After school classes at Santa Ana Public School sites
Evening shifts between 3:30-7p : For teachers that are knowledgeable in coding, woodshop, competitive robotics and other STEM subjects.

Subject teachers will be teaching:

  • Engineering with LEGO
  • Robotics
  • General Hands-on Science Classes
  • Makers Labs

Qualification of teachers:

  • At least 1 year of classroom experience working with class sizes between 10-25 students or working towards a degree in education.
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Positive Energy that can make classes amazing!
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to connect with students
  • Outgoing personality
  • Able to learn and adapt to curriculum
  • Love working with STEM and hands-on projects
  • Commit to working at least through June, the longer the better!
  • Preferred qualifications, but not necessary for the right teacher - Working towards a teaching credential

Pay Rate - Based on experience and personality($19.50-$21.00/hour). If you have a teaching credential or at least 2 years of course work and field experience($21-$24/hour)

Tasks:

Students will be tasked with:
-managing a classroom of up to 25 students
-implementing and adjusting classroom curriculum
-work directly with student groups of K-2nd and 3rd-5th
-keeping proper class time management goals
-report end of day reports with class outcomes and achievements
-review class successes with program managers

Training:

Training includes mandatory monthly meetings, onsite teacher reviews, classroom management and behavior training, mandated reporter and child abuse training, and teaching students with special needs.

Learning Outcome:

Students will gain classroom management skills, curriculum implementation and STEM teaching experience with hands-on projects.
