Activities Volunteer / InternAt — Imperial Healthcare Center

Intern / Volunteer will be working in the activities department entertaining patients and will also help on the floor answering call lights, passing food trays and beverages.

1. working in the activities department interacting with patients
2. working on the floor answering call lights and assisting the nursing assistants in passing food trays and beverages.

Training:

The Intern/ Volunteer will interact with patients to understand their needs, identify changes in behavior and learn about different diet restrictions based on health conditions. By working on the floor answering call lights they will also learn about different isolations and the safety precautions that need to be taken. We train all of our staff, interns and volunteers with monthly in-services on different topics based on observations and new regulations.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this experience the Intern / Volunteer will be able to identify and understand behavioral patterns, signs of depression, isolation safety precautions and dietary restrictions.
