College Autism Program InternAt — Golden West College

Opportunity Summary 

Intern will help with the College Autism Program and The Loop Class.  All applicants need to be interested in helping the autistic community on campus and available on Fridays. Position is hybrid both on campus and on zoom.  Intern will be meeting one on one with students for case management, attending The loop meetings, participating in Autism Ally trainings and minimal admin work.

Daily Case management
Weekly meeting with at risk students
Weekly student group process workshops
Assist in Semester trainings for faculty & staff

Training:

One on one training with program coordinator prior to semester starting. One on one 1x per week mentor meeting and supervision, job shadowing, attend autism ally trainings for faculty staff, tutors, and students.

Learning Outcomes:

Help the autistic college community connect with on and off campus resources, be able to facilitate a group presentation for autism group, introduction to crisis management, gain a comprehensive knowledge of the college autism experience.
