Abilities Unlimited is focused on providing high-quality life-coaching & educational services to adults with developmental disabilities. Our mission is to systematically immerse each client into their community, and build a platform that helps reach their full potential. We understand the challenges that our clients face, while pursuing their journey to become fully integrated members of society. We strive to break down those barriers and build upon the strengths that each client has, by utilizing a support team that is focused on the individual. We are confident that by encouraging self-advocacy and promoting lasting relationships that our participant’s abilities can truly become unlimited.

Tasks
Guide and mentor an individual with developmental delays, goal set and create plans to help person achieve desired outcomes, mediate and counsel students in emotional crisis or behavioral episodes, track data and progress notes to present to the team. Guide students through community based educational and internship sites.

Training
All new hires will go through official certification as a Registered Behavior Tech. They will also receive training in crisis management through the Crisis Prevention Institute training. Participants in our program will be first-aide and cpr certified as well.

Learning Outcomes
Students that participate in the internship program will learn a multitude of goals focused on their educational needs. You’ll be able to understand the varying degrees of intellectual disabilities and provide services that are appropriately catered to each person. You’ll learn how to verbally lead others through obstacles they may face and encourage self development when challenges are present. You will become proficient in goal setting, data tracking, and skill acquisition programs.
