EHS InternAt — Caledonian Alloys Inc
- Provide support for CA Gardena leadership team to impact injury reduction activities to decrease recordable incident rate to achieve a world class recordable rate of <1.0.
- Provide training and monitoring of key life safety programs (i.e. LOTO, Fall Protection, Confined Space, etc.) throughout the Revert group.
- Be a partner to the leadership team to drive EHS accountability and support new business growth opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all Federal and State Environmental Regulations.
- Grow behavior based safety using positive reinforcement techniques.
- Understand and demonstrate compliance with all environmental permits and California environmental regulations- including California Hazardous Waste Management, South Coast Air Quality permits, and Storm Water regulations.
- Experience with California Environmental Regulations and Departments (CUPA, DTSC, CWB).
- Familiar with California CERS and SMARTS electronic reporting systems.
Tasks
Intern will update JHAs to include their findings. Intern will conduct mock and real investigations. Intern will conduct safety audits and prepare corrective actions. Intern will review all Right To Know posting to ensure that all postings are present. Intern will ensure that all SSoWs and other documents reflect what changes were made.
Training
Train/instruct intern on Job Hazard Analysis procedures. Train/instruct intern on conducting incident/accident investigations and use of 5 Why methodology. Intern will conduct hazard analysis for work areas and processes. Have intern review Right To Know regulations and Hazardous Communications Program. Intern will work with operations personnel in correcting identified hazards.
